These barriers are specially designed to power field devices such as Intrinsically safe smoke detectors, Intrinsically safe heat detectors, Intrinsically safe strain gauges for weighing machines, Intrinsically safe response indicators, and Intrinsically safe alarm devices.

Necessary certification permits installation in Zone 1 or 2 gas groups IIA, IIB, and IIC.
